Responsibilities

What will you do?

An intern will work with project teams to support, develop and utilize actuarial models.  Professional growth will come through analysis of healthcare cost and utilization data, completing actuarial calculations, and implementing software solutions. The 2026 summer internship program will run from May 18 - August 7. 

  • Learn Wakely products, tools, and services.
  • Analyze irregular data trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Attain knowledge of Wakely’s client service standards,
  • Participate in internal/external client meetings.
  • Understand the fundamentals of potential compliance risk.
  • Document and complete assigned tasks within the project timeline.
  • Learn to identify and communicate issues affecting a project plan.
  • Continue exam progression.
  • Develop technical skills - Excel, SQL, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Participate in research, core materials, reference items, and training programs.
  • Work with dedicated, enthusiastic project teams that will help you grow your technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  •  1+ Exams passed
  •  Working towards a bachelor's in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field
  •  Knowledge or training in computer programming language
  •  Strong organizational skills
  •  GPA – 3.00+
