Overview

Job Summary

The Director, Enterprise Data Management is responsible for supporting and executing HMA’s enterprise data strategy and overseeing key data management functions in alignment with organizational goals. This role focuses on data governance, data quality, analytics delivery, and operational oversight of HMA’s data environments. The Director partners closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to implement data initiatives, manage assigned technical and non-technical resources, and ensure the reliable design, delivery, and maintenance of enterprise data, analytics, and reporting solutions. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, hands-on leadership of data initiatives, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Support and Execute Enterprise Data Strategy
    • Support the CIO in the execution of HMA’s enterprise data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Translate strategic priorities into actionable data initiatives and operational plans.
    • Partner with leadership on data-related initiatives and priorities.
  • Oversee Data Management
    • Ensure effective data governance, quality, and lifecycle management.
    • Maintain collaboration among data team members and relevant stakeholders.
    • Implement best practices for data documentation and use.
  • Lead Analytics, Reporting, and Business Intelligence Delivery
    • Lead the design and delivery of internally focused analytics, reporting solutions, and business intelligence tools
    • Ensure data is transformed into accurate, timely, and actionable insights for stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain standardized data assets, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Manage and Develop Team Members
    • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for assigned data team members.
    • Support professional development and skill building across technical and non-technical roles.
    • Foster a collaborative, improvement-focused team environment.
  • Establish and Maintain Data Standards and Quality
    • Implement and enforce standards for data architecture, analytics, and data integration processes.
    • Oversee quality control of data tools, dashboards, and deliverables.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee Database and Data Platform Operations
    • Support oversight of database administration functions across business units.
    • Partner with IT Operations and Infrastructure teams to ensure appropriate provisioning, configuration, and performance of data platforms.
    • Monitor data environment health, reliability, and scalability.
  • Evaluate and Implement Data Tools & Technologies
    • Assist in evaluating data technologies, platforms, and tools to enhance enterprise data capabilities.
    • Stay current on industry trends and emerging best practices in data management and analytics.
    • Contribute to data technology roadmaps related to ETL, data storage, and reporting solutions.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure data practices align with applicable data privacy regulations and industry standards.
    • Support compliance efforts through documentation, controls, and monitoring.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education/Training

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, or related discipline is required. Work experience in lieu of formal education may be considered. A master’s degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum of 8 years of experience in data management, analytics, governance, or related field required. Experience leading data initiatives and managing team members is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data lifecycle management
  • Experience with analytics, business intelligence tools, and reporting platforms
  • Working knowledge of database administration and data management, including SQL
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational objectives.

The posted salary range for this role at HMA includes a range of factors that we consider when making compensation decisions. These factors include but are not limited to experience, education, training, skills, licensures, and certifications, along with other business and organizational needs. HMA may adjust the posted salary range estimate for applicable geographic differentials associated with the location where we may fill the position. At HMA, we generally do not hire an individual at or near the top of the range for their role. All compensation decisions are dependent on the variables of each case. A reasonable estimate of the existing salary range for this position is $180,000 to $220,000 annually.
